A manufacturer of fertilizer finds that national sales of fertilizer follow the seasonal pattern
F= 100,000(1+ sin((2pi(t-60))/365))
where F is measured in pounds and t represents time in days, with t=1 corresponding to January 1. The manufacturer wants to set up a schedule to produce a Uniform amount of fertilizer each day. What should this amount be?
Intgral(0 to 365) Fdt gives the total sales. Divide this total by 365. It is the daily average. That is the amount to be manufactured each day.
